Bristol Fashion Week SS15

Ahhh, it's my favourite time of year again... Bristol Fashion Week! I hightailed it up the The Mall at Cribbs Causeway on Wednesday for the VIP Spring Summer 2015 Fashion show. Once there I met up with some blogger pals and we had a good catch up over tea and cupcakes before the show.

This year the show had a Destination theme and the pavilion was decked out like an airport departure lounge, which was super cool, the show was hosted by Mark Hayes and Lucy Watson from Made in Chelsea.

The first look to kick things off was Denim from Marks & Spencer. I seriously need a denim jacket in my life this spring summer. I've wanted one for ages but I still haven't found THE one yet. Perhaps Marks & Spencer have the answer. Next up was Mono from John Lewis. I'm heading to Italy for a couple of weeks this year and featured in this scene was a gorgeous black bikini, with a white fringe trim, which would be perfect for posing along the Italian Riviera with a floppy hat to complete the look. I was so distracted by how awesome the model looked that I didn't manage to snap a pic but you can see it on the John Lewis website here.

Warehouse covered the Utility trend really well and I really liked the blue and white duster coat from Jigsaw in the Florals scene. One of my favourite scenes was Festival by Superdry. The embroidered denim shirt above is perfect for festivals and although I probably wouldn't be brave enough to wear an all white dress to Glastonbury this year, the Daisy dress is super cute.

Pastels is another trend that I'm happy to see back this Spring Summer. Pastels just make me think of Spring and Spring leads to Summer and Summer means sunshine..... we hope!

70's Boho is a trend I'm looking forward to trying out. I can see me in some flared jeans this summer and I love all the 70's prints. Sport Luxe by Topshop was such a fun scene. I like that the models incorporate dance in to the catwalk shows. It really makes BFW stand out.

I am in love with the Bold and Bright trend. I feel like I would need a little bit of a tan to feel confident enough to rock it though. I adore the bright orange jumper and green trouser combo from Ted Baker and French Connection. It just screams summer.

After the show M&S hosted a blogger after party with drinks and nibbles. They showcased their key pieces from the upcoming trends this Spring/Summer and we could try stuff on in the gorgeous spacious fitting rooms. Wednesday was such good fun and thanks so much to The Mall for the invite! Definitely check out a show this weekend if you can!

You can find a full list of all the outfits worn by the models here. I also posted a couple of videos to my Instagram if you want to check them out.

Bath in Fashion 2014

I recently hopped the train over to Bath to attend a Bath in Fashion blogger event. The day started off at the Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, which is stunning, the gardens were lovely and I could have stayed there all day sipping tea and eating biscuits! We were given a presentation of the upcoming events at Bath in Fashion, which will include talks by Meadham Kirchhoff and Topshop MD Mary Homer along with a whole host of Catwalk shows, Fashion Fairs, Workshops and films including Sabrina starring Audrey Hepburn! You can check out the full calendar of events on the Bath in Fashion website.

After the presentation we were sent off on a scavenger hunt, I was in a team with Tara, SJ and Polly and as each of us was a little late to the presentation (darn you Sunday trains!) we called ourselves team Last But Not Least! We were given a list of trends and a list of friendly shops that were willing to accommodate us crazy bloggers as we rushed round looking for the trends to mark off our lists. We posted pictures of each trend we found to Instagram and were given extra points if we posted pics of ourselves wearing the trend! So much fun! Here's a little selection of my Instagram shots!

We dashed over to the Fashion Museum, which was our finish line, and had a little rest while we waited for all the teams to get back. After we'd had a breather we looked around the exhibits at the museum whilst the scores were counted. The special exhibit for 2014 is Georgians: dress for polite society.

How beautiful is this Georgian inspired Vivienne Westwood evening gown; someone take me to a ball?

We also got the chance to check out the 2013 Dress of the Year, which had only just been installed and is a Christopher Kane dress chosen by Susie Lau of Style Bubble.

After we'd had a good look around the museum exhibits we headed back upstairs for a glass of Champagne and found out which team had won the scavenger hunt! Sadly all our dashing did not pay off and we didn't win but we did come second, huzzah! Everyone got a lovely goody bag full of treats and was particularly excited to find out that Anthropologie would be opening a store in Bath on 30th May and we were given lovely notebooks and pencils as part of the goody bag. Also included were treats from BiOrganics, Weleda and Liz Cox. Bath in Fashion runs from 3rd to 10th May so definitely check it out if you're in or around Bath! Big thanks to the Bath in Fashion team; I had a great time at the event and I slept well that night after our mini marathon around Bath's shops!

Lavish Alice Skater Dress

Dress: c/o Lavish Alice, Necklace: Gift, Shoes: ASOS

Finally the sun is shining and wanting to make the most it I headed out in my new Lavish Alice skater dress that I was sent a couple of weeks ago. I chose a size 8 and I think the skater style shape is really flattering. I LOVE the colour, it makes me happy, I just want to swish the skirt around and pose for no one in particular.... haha. I think the collar really brings it all together and makes the outfit stand out, I wasn't sure if I would like how the collar looked on me as it's not a style I would normally choose but I loved it. I can definitely see me dressing this down with a pair of converse or ballet flats for a more casual look, here's hoping the sun sticks around! You can have a peek at all the lovely dresses available at Lavish Alice here. I'm so looking forward to this Bank Holiday weekend, I'm off to London on Friday to catch up with some friends and I can't wait. What's everyone up to this weekend?

Springtime in New Look and Joe's Jeans

Jacket: New Look, Cami: New Look, Jeans: Joe's, Boots: Park Lane, Bag: Primark

Just a little outfit post from last weekend. It was a super windy day so not perfect photography conditions! I got the cami and jacket from New Look to take to Australia and I was not impressed to come home and find that it wasn't warm enough to wear them here. Luckily the sun peeked out enough for me to wear them last weekend. My jeans are from Joe's, I got them for a bargain from TK Maxx last year and I've been waiting for some spring like weather to wear them. I just love the colour and they are so comfy. My boots are from Park Lane and they are one of my absolute favourite pairs of shoes, so much so that I don't wear them that often in an attempt to keep them for as long as possible! Here's hoping the weather clears up soon so I can bust out some more spring/summer pieces that I'm just dying to wear!
