Christmas Treats

So Christmas has been and gone and it was all over so quickly! I thought I'd do a little post to show you guys a few of my presents.

First up a little Wildfox love. My bestie Tara got me this 'Oh Romeo' T-Shirt from the Star Crossed Lovers Collection. I love a bit of Wildfox and this T-Shirt wasn't to be my only piece of Wildfox goodness. My Brother (guided by me) got me the 'Loved' T-Shirt in pale pink. Oh so spoilt!

And because she really loves me, I also got this Topshop bag from Tara, I think I like it best as a clutch but it also has a detachable strap incase I don't feel like carrying it anymore ;)

I smiled like a muppet when I opened up this Globe necklace from my good friend Becky. It reminds me of travelling and therefore makes me want to run away to a warmer climate but it also reminds me of all the fun memories and I can't wait to wear it.

My other Brother (again guided by me) got me this Urban Outfitters necklace, I wanted something simple that I could get a lot of wear out of and I think this fits the bill. I also got an Ice Cream maker from my friend Liz, which I can't wait to try out! Come summer time I'll have my own Ice Cream empire ;) I'm so lucky to have such great friends and I hope my gifts to them were well received.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas :)

South West Bloggers Christmas Party

I recently attended the South West Bloggers Christmas party held at The Birdcage in Bristol in aid of Macmillan. The Birdcage is a such a cute venue and it also doubles as a Vintage shop, tea+clothes = eeep! We were all treated to a cup of tea and a piece of cake on arrival, I went for the chocolate cake (obviously) and it was super yummy! We also got to pick a present from under the tree and inside my present was a No Tangle brush, some Macadamia Oil treatments and a 2True nail varnish. I'm already using a sample of the Macadamia Oil treatment and I'm really liking it so far and so I'm looking forward to trying out the hair mask aswell.

Once we'd opened up our presents and finished off the cake we got split into groups for the Christmas quiz. I was little to no help to my fellow quiz mates and we ended up coming second from last so I don't think I'll be joining a quiz team anytime soon! After the quiz, we were served champagne in teacups while we got to chatting and browsing the vintage shop. As if our presents from under the tree weren't enough on our way out we were given a goodie bag with a vintage scarf and some sweeties!

I had such a fun time catching up with some of my favourite bloggers and I met a few new people aswell. It was a great event and I'm so glad I decided to go as I was a little nervous being such a newbie!

I had so much fun and I'll be keeping my eyes open for the next event!

I need these boots! Sadly they are $435.00 so I think they will have to remain a dream. Sigh.

Secret Santa

So it's that time of year when people start drawing names for Secret Santa and the gift hunting begins! This year I have a work colleague to buy for and someone in my friendship group aswell. My team at work are all women and we know each other pretty well so everyone usually gets a decent gift. My friendship group on the other hand is a mix of guys and girls, I think there are about 16 of us in total including partners. So you might end up with something nice (last year I think I got some Lush goodies, result!) or something silly, like a blow up Gladiator dual set! (Seriously this happened one year, check it out). Personally I like the silly gifts, way more fun! This year I'm super happy with both my draws but it hasn't always been the case so I thought I'd do a little post on what's about at the mo incase anyone was struggling!

When it's comes to Secret Santa the first place I always head is Firebox.com I've been a Firebox fan and customer for quite a few years now and they have always have lots of fun gift ides for under a tenner.

Ninjabread Men - £7.99 - Firebox
How awesome are these Ninjabread Men cutters?! Seriously, I know a certain baker who could put these to good use! The pack features three different shapes so your Secret Santa could bake up a whole army of cookie cutter Ninjas!

Sass & Belle - £8.75 - Debenhams

A purse is a really great idea because everyone needs a purse! Personally I'm always breaking mine by overfilling them with loose change and I love little purses for fitting into clutch bags. You can never have too many little purses in my opinion. This owl coin purse from Sass & Belle is so cute, I would be super happy to receive this, hint hint Secret Santa ;). If you don't know the person too well you can always go for a safer choice if you're not too sure on their tastes!

Mavala - £10.35 - feelunique.com
If you've spotted your Secret Santa likes to do her nails, why not look for a nail varnish set? The colours in this set are so fun!

Alien Invader Multi-Tool - £8.99 - Firebox

And if you draw a guy as your Secret Santa this Alien Invader Multi-tool is pretty cool! Not only does it look good as a key ring, it's also a screwdriver and a bottle opener! What more could he ask for?

Winter is Coming

So yeah winter is pretty much here now. It's cold, it's rainy, it's miserable. But on the plus side an excuse to buy new winter accessories! A pair of gloves never lasts me more than a season, I have quite long nails and so with conventional gloves I'm always bustin' holes in them. The last few years I've been wearing fingerless gloves instead, plus as an iPhone user it's a nightmare to try and use my phone with full gloves on!
Sonia by Sonia Rykiel - asos.com
I think this pair of Sonia by Sonia Rykiel  fingerless gloves are perfect. I love the contrasting prints and there is even a hint of fair isle aswell, I'm a sucker for anything fair isle at this time of year. The only disappointing thing? The price tag! They are currently reduced to £59.50 on asos.com but that's still not quite in my price range so I'll just have to dream.....
ASOS Converter Gloves £7.50 asos.com
Now these are a much cheaper option! Currently in the sale at ASOS for £7.50, you still have that splash of fair isle and they have a cute little mitten part that you can pop over incase your fingers get cold! A feature that is currently missing from my gloves!

Forever 21 £7.40
Next up sort yer neck out, I recently bought this fluorescent pink and blue snood/infinity scarf from Forever21. What I like about this one is that you don't have to wrap it round you, it's small enough that you can just pop it over your head and your good to go. I have a couple of longer style snoods and I can wrap them round my neck once or twice, but then I have all this excess scarf that I can't wrap round again without strangling myself! Ahhh.

Aztec Fair Isle Snood £18 Topshop.com
Finally I've just fallen in love with this snood from Topshop! I think I might have to add it to my Christmas list! So snugly and warm.

Cupcakes and Trains

On Monday I took a whirlwind trip to London for the day with my bestie Tara from The Style Rawr. Our train home didn't get in until 1.30am and I had to be in work at 8.30am. Needless to say I was mega tired yesterday!

Whilst in London Tara and I took a breather from the shops in the Hummingbird Bakery in Soho. We both went for a Carrot Cake Cupcake each, which were delicious and a yummy hot chocolate.

One of the highlights of my day had to be when we were walking past the Disney store and fake snow started falling from some magical place in the sky. This combined with all the amazing Christmas lights just made me feel so excited for Christmas. The count down to Christmas Day is definitely on for me now.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock

A couple of years ago I bought a Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, which I loved to death. I wore it everywhere and eventually the wear on the strap was too much and I had to put it into retirement. Ever since I've been on the hunt for a new watch I could love just as much. I usually like my watches to be simple but I also like to go for something a bit different if that makes sense?? And so I'm currently battling between these three watches...

May28th - £25

This lace flower watch from May28th is right up my street, I love the contrast between the grey strap and the yellow face and the lace flower detail gives it that extra something. Plus at £25 it's a bargain!

La Mer Tokyo Strap - $160

I really like the La Mer wrap watches, I love the colour of this Tokyo Strap watch and the charms are super cute.

Olivia Burton £65

Last but not least this Olivia Burton watch £65 at Harvey Nichols is amazing. The butterfly print on the face is beautiful and it could be my favourite out of the three. Decisions, decisions! What do you think?

Oh Kurt.... The things you do to me

Shoes. It's fair to say that shoes are my vice in this world and I have no intention of seeking a cure for my addiction. I went to America for two months when I was 21 and came back with 8 pairs of shoes. I'm a little (and only a little) ashamed to admit that there are at least 2 or 3 pairs that I have never worn. But hey, I might wear them one day right?!

So when I'm browsing the ol' interwebs searching for shopping inspiration, it's inevitable that eventually I will end up looking at shoes. And when I should have been looking for Christmas presents I came across these beauties:

KG Kurt Geiger - Thelma £170

As the weather gets colder, I can't wait to bring all my boots back into regular rotation and these shoe boots from Kurt Geiger would make a great addition to my collection. I've had a love affair with everything Kurt Geiger for the longest time and I love the stand out Dalmatian print on these boots. They also come in black as a more wearable option!

KG Kurt Geiger - Vera £150

For a more everyday boot you can't go wrong with these tan beauties. I love the chunky block heel.

Miss KG - Fisher - £55

And finally I really like the patent contrast on these Miss KG boots. They'd be perfect for a rainy day and they make me think of riding boots a little as well.

After browsing all the amazing boots available at the moment, I'm off to hide my credit card.
