Lets Get Warm: Boots

Tall Black Boots

From left to right: Kurt Geiger - Willing: £195, Kurt Geiger - Waltz: £ 200, Vintage America: £215,
Aldo - Miola: £80, Aldo - Floreum: £160, Dune - Tags: £159

It's no secret that I have a small obsession with shoes and particularly BOOTS. I feel like you can never have enough boots. At the moment I'm after a pair of long black boots, boring some may say, but so essential! I can be a bit picky when it comes to the shape of boots so I'm conscious that some of these might look a bit similar! I'm partial to a bit of a heel so I'm quite drawn to the American Vintage boots, I like that cowboy-esque style as well. As for the slightly flatter heeled boots, it's a toss up between the two Aldo pairs for me! YUM. I can see one of these pairs ending up in my shoe collection, I just need to decide between heel or no heel!

Let's Get Warm: Coats

Winter Coats
From right to left: ASOS: £90, Karen Millen: £325, Darling via Oasis: £70
Boohoo Biker Coat: £45, Boohoo Peplum Coat: £40, Boohoo Military Coat: £60

There's no running from it anymore, it's cold, the weather has turned and it's time to get warm! I need a new coat for the winter so I've been trawling the internet for my perfect winter coat and these are some of my favourite picks! If I had the cash I'd be all over the Karen Millen coat! As you can tell I was quite taken with Boohoo's current selection! The red coat makes me think of Christmas for some reason and I love the vibrant colour of the Darling jacket which is currently available from Oasis.

I'm terrible at making decisions so I'm going to have to have a little think about which coat to get.... I keep thinking about the Karen Millen one but it would have to come out of my Australia fund and I just can't have that haha.

Bristol Fashion Week AW13

Ahh Bristol Fashion Week, one of my favourite events of the year. It's always so much fun, I love the mix of catwalk strutting with cool dance routines and this year even had a little ballet segment. <3 The hosts Andrew Barton and Mark Heyes have such great chemistry and are always full of advice for the upcoming seasons trends. It's great to have a show which features affordable fashion with outfits you might actually wear! I posted a couple of videos of the show to Instagram if you want to check them out!

I couldn't very well go along to BFW and not do a little posing myself so here I am! I decided BFW would be the perfect place to wear my new French Connection skinnies that I picked up at the Sketch to Store event recently. Love them!

Can't wait for SS14!

Harvey Nichols AW13 Fashion Show

Last week I was invited to the Harvey Nichols AW13 Fashion Show held at Cutlers Hall in Quakers Friars. I'd been to the SS show earlier in the year and was pretty excited to see what Harvey Nichols had in store for this season. We were treated to some champers on arrival and I managed to nab a seat on the FROW so had a perfect view!

Jumper: Proenza Schouler, Skirt: MSGM,
Shoes: Gianvito Rossi, Bag: Alexander Wang

Jumper: 3.1 Philip Lim, Shirt: Goat, Jeans: Paige,
Trainers: Isabel Marant, Bag: Sophie Hulme

Gilet: Maison Scotch, Leggings: J Brand, Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Hat: Christy's, Clutch: Stella McCartney

Dress: Roland Moret
We were shown six looks in total and the photo's above are some of my favourites from the night. These photo's were taken on my phone so I apologise for the less than perfect quality!

Jacket: Zara, Jumper: A-Wear, Trousers: Next, Boots: H&M
Thanks to Harvey Nichols for the invite, I'll definitely be popping in to the store soon to check out some of my favourite pieces up close! Now where did I hide all that cash.....

Vodafone London Fashion Weekend

On Saturday I headed down to London town on another fashion adventure with Tara from The Style Rawr. This time we were on a mission to Somerset House to check out Vodafone London Fashion Weekend.

Not long after we arrived it started to drizzle so we took cover inside and began to make our way through the maze of rooms housing lots and lots of brands. Some of the rooms were pretty hectic and it was a bit of a squeeze to get round but there were definitely some bargains to be found if you could stand it!

Before we knew it it was time to get in line for the Catwalk Show and we soon found ourselves inside the show tent waiting for the show to start. Here are a few phones snaps...

The show focused on four key trends for Autumn Winter: Pretty in Pink, Back to Nature, Shape Up and Victoriana. My favourite of all the trends on show was definitely Victoriana, I'm feeling a little gothic romance this weekend.

Jacket: Zara, Camisole: New Look, Maxi Skirt: New Look, Bag: WAY

I wanted to be comfy for the journey to and from London so decided to wear this floral maxi skirt, which I picked up from New Look a couple of weeks ago and to make sure I didn't catch a cold I wore my trusty Zara jacket to keep me warm!

Did you check out London Fashion Weekend?

French Connection: From Sketch to Store #StyleChallenge

On Wednesday night I attended a Sketch to Store Style Challenge event at my local French Connection in Cabot Circus with my darling Tara from The Style Rawr. The store was holding a style challenge and encouraged us to pick an outfit that wasn't our usual style. I set about scouring the rails and was instantly drawn to these print trousers. I've wanted a pair of print trousers for a while but was a little cautious about whether or not I could pull them off. I needn't have worried because I absolutely loved them! I finished my outfit with a simple cobalt blue vest and black shirt.

Tara picked out this really cool dress and jacket, which she rocked obviously! I loved my outfit so much (and as the store were offering 20% off) I decided to treat myself and bought the trousers and the vest!

The staff were really chatty and helpful and we were each given a goodie bag, which among other lovely things contained some yummy Lindt choocies that didn't last very long!

It was a really fun night and I can't wait to wear my new purchases!

Maaji Swimwear

Maaji Swimwear Bikini
Left: Maaji Captain Gorgeous Bikini Set £50 asos.com
Right: Maaji Saltwater Grace Bikini Set £45 asos.com

I'm off on a trip to Australia next year (ahhhhh) and so I'm trying to pick up bits and pieces now as I'm planning to go February/March time and I doubt there will be much summer clothes in the shops then! So I've been looking at swimwear and I am came across these beautiful pieces from Maaji in the ASOS Outlet section. I always forget about the Outlet section, I get so distracted by the New In's. They retail for between £80 - £130, so you're getting a good little deal from ASOS. I love the animal prints in the two bikini's above and the mix of colours and prints makes for a really fun overall look. Lovvvvvvvvvvve.

Maaji Swimwear Bikini
Left: Maaji Prinited Halter Bikini Set £58 asos.com
Right: Maaji Slate Grey Scuba Bikini Set £48 asos.com
From what I can see most of the sets are reversible too, which is pretty cool! Again I just love the prints of these next two bikini's. I think the set on the left is my favourite because I prefer the style of the halter top but I just can't decide!

What do you guys think? Help me out here.

Mango & Daisies

Skirt: Mango, Necklace: Regal Rose, Boots: Kurt Geiger

Oh hey there, I know it's been a while so here's a little snap of me from yesterday. I've had this Mango dip hem skirt for about a year and I'm a little ashamed to say that until yesterday it still had the tags on... I know, I know, I'm a terrible person. With the sun shining, I decided it was the perfect day to snap those tags and take it on a trip into town with me. I love the pastel colours and it's super comfy, I paired it with my favourite Kurt Geiger boots and kept my accessories simple with a few bracelets and the feather necklace is from Regal Rose.

Today I'll mostly be getting as much sun as possible before it disappears, so enjoy the sunshine everyone!! I promise not to leave it so long next time!

AX Paris - #AXCircus

Last Wednesday I took a half day from work to head to London to attend the AX Paris blogger event held at Circus in Covent Garden.

I meet up with my darling Tara from The Style Rawr and we hopped the coach to London.

AX Paris Circus
A few snaps from my phone, forgive the poor quality!

The event was so much fun! We were treated to performances from the amazing performers at Circus from gorgeous girls dancing and playing with fire to a hot guy treating us to some hoop acrobatics! In between performances, we sipped on cocktails and had a good old natter. There was also a photo booth, which was amazing and we made good use of it. ;)

regal rose necklace
Blazer: Primark. Necklace: Regal Rose

At the event we were shown a preview of the upcoming AX Paris TV advert, coming soon to a TV screen near you! You can also watch it here. We also had the chance to browse the new AX Paris collection.

It was great to meet up with lots of lovely bloggers and meet some new people!

Goodies!
Everyone was given an amazing goodie bag full of treats. I was especially excited by the Colour Me Good Ryan Gosling colouring book <3. I'm also looking forward to trying out the Nail Art Tattoos.

Our coach didn't get in until after 1.30am and I had to go to work in the morning, so it was a little tough but so worth it! Thanks so much to AX Paris and etail pr for putting on such a great event.

Harvey Nichols Bristol - Part Two

Just a little post to show you guys what I wore to the Harvey Nichols blogger event last week...

Coral blazer from primark
Dress: Boohoo. Blazer: Primark. Necklace: Accessorize
boohoo animal print dip hem dress

I've been dying to wear this Boohoo dress since it landed on my doorstep a couple of months ago. Luckily for me last Saturday was pretty sunny and only a teeny bit chilly so I decided that it was time for it's debut. I paired it with my new coral blazer from Primark, which was a bit of a bargain at £19. I adore the colour and I can see it becoming a permanent fixture in my wardrobe this summer. My cute feather necklace is from Accessorize, I've had it for a couple of years but it doesn't get featured enough in my day to day wardrobe, so I'm going to try and wear it a bit more!

Harvey Nichols Bristol Blogger Event - Part One

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to be invited to attend a Blogger event at Harvey Nichols Bristol. We were greeted in the personal shopping area by the lovely Daniel, who is head of womenswear at Harvey Nichols in Bristol. Daniel talked us through the key trends this season, which included Pop of Colour, White Out, Monochrome and No Limits Prints, whilst showing us some of the key pieces in the store at the moment.

Gorgeous Erdem print skirt

McQ Alexander McQueen Iris print skirt - Amazing

Afterwards we each went off to the shop floor for some yummy beauty treatments. I started off with a Bliss facial, which was really nice and my skin instantly looked refreshed and brighter afterwards. I then headed over to Shu Uemura and had my make-up done, I like my make-up to look natural so I opted for a bb perfector cream, with some powder to give my face a more matte look, which is what I prefer. As if that wasn't enough, I then had a yummy hand and arm massage at Elemis.

Once I'd finished all my treatments, I was lucky enough to get a little tour around the handbag and accessories section of Harvey Nick's, also known as Heaven! There are so many gorgeous handbags on display from a great selection of designers including Mulberry, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Celine.

All the staff at Harvey Nichols are so knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs and it really shows!

I wish all Saturday's could be like this!

Bristol Fashion Week - Spring Summer Show

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Spring Summer bloggers show at Bristol Fashion Week, which was held at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. Unfortunately work has been manic lately so I haven't had a chance to post about it until now!

Photo credit: Bristol Fashion Week at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway
The show was presented by TV stylist Mark Heyes & celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton. I love these two together, they have great chemistry and help make the show really enjoyable.

Photo credit: Bristol Fashion Week at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway
The show featured yummy neons and prints from Karen Millen. Neon is such a fun trend to play with, I like it when I see people wearing just a touch of neon, for example a handbag or other accessory to help an outfit standout.

Monochrome is everywhere at the moment, personally I love it for workwear, I think it helps break up my sometimes boring work outfits! This post wouldn't be complete without a shout out to the hot male model pictured here, swoooon.

Photo credit: Bristol Fashion Week at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway
Ahhh who doesn't enjoy a good floral print?! It makes me think of spring and sunshine, something that's seriously lacking at the moment. I'd like to get my hands on the pink trousers pictured above for when the weather picks up!

I attended the Autumn/Winter show in September last year and it was great, I love that Bristol has it's own fashion week, it's one of the many reasons I love this city. As well as strutting down the runway most of the models in the show dance, which kept us entertained! At the end of the show all the models plus Mark & Andrew came on stage to perform a rendition of Gangnam Style, it was awesome! haha.

So did you go to any of the Fashion Week shows?

Cabot Circus 48 Hour Fashion Fix

Last weekend I headed down to Cabot Circus to check out the 48 Hour Fashion Fix event. The weekend featured a hook-a-handbag competition, Beauty Bus and pop-up fashion shows around Cabot Circus, like a fashion flash mob!

Outside House of Fraser I had a go at the Hook-a-Handbag competition where the prize was either the handbag you 'hooked' or the top prize was a Marc Jacobs bag, sadly luck was not on my side and when we passed by later on I noticed the MJ bag was gone, so congratulations to whoever won - I'm not jealous at all...

The Beauty Bus was situated in Quakers Friars and some of the brands on board were Nails Inc, Benefit and Superdry, we obviously picked a busy time as it was packed with giggling girls when we got there so sadly didn't get to try out any treatments.

This was a pretty cool event and I just need the sun to come out to play now so I can get in the SS mood!

Harvey Nichols SS13 Fashion Show

Last Tuesday I attended the Harvey Nichols SS13 Fashion Show at the Bristol Museum. The Museum is such an awesome venue and the set up of the show completely transformed the foyer.

When we arrived the foyer was already packed and so we dashed to try and get some seats before they were all gone! Luckily we were still in reach of the refreshments!

The show consisted of six looks; White Out, Colour Pop, Metallic, Monochrome, Mixed Prints and Fantasy Frocks:

Michael Kors, Seven for all mankind
Photo by Michael Bowles / Rex Features (220793eh)
Michael Kors Jacket, Finders Keepers blouse, 7 For All Mankind Jeans, LK Bennett pumps and Gucci bag.

The first look was White Out and as the name suggests the models were sporting all white statement outfits. I was instantly drawn to the print on these 7 For All Mankind jeans and I could see myself wearing the Michael Kors jacket again and again.

joseph dress, shourouk necklace

Joseph dress, Shourouk necklace and Jimmy Choo pumps.

Looking at this Joseph crepe dress just makes me want to be in Miami enjoying the sunshine on South Beach. I love the neon pink rope chain on the Shourouck necklace, eeep!

Raoul
Photo by Michael Bowles / Rex Features (2207953df)
Raoul top, Raoul shorts, Sam Edelman sandals and Stella McCartney bag.

I think this look is so wearable, the jacket and the laser cut shorts (I did think it was a skirt at first!) are my favourite pieces.

Alexander Wang, Joseph, Celine
Photo by Michael Bowles / Rex Features (2207953eq)
Alexander Wang jacket, Joseph shirt, Joseph leggings, Saint Laurent Paris pumps and Celine bag.

I want this entire outfit and that's all I have to say about that. I love the models hair and makeup in this photo too, basically I just want to be her.

Mary Katrantzou
Photo by Michael Bowles / Rex Features (2207953db)
Mary Katrantzou dress, Christian Louboutin wedges.

I absolutely adore the print on this Mary Katrantzou dress. You can't really see in the photo but the wedges have a multi-coloured trim and print around the heel, I need these wedges in my life!

A lot of the models were sporting cute fishtail braids, I'd love to try out this look but I think I'd have to get someone to help me as I find I can't stretch my arms round enough when it comes to braids/plaits haha.

I had a great time and I really enjoyed the show, it's definitely given me some ideas for SS!

Lucky

I can't wait for the weather to start warming up, I'm so tired of being cold and today we had crazy rain with thunder and lightening! Alas until the sun shows its face I'll be staying wrapped up and trying to keep warm.

Jumper: ASOS £24.50
In an attempt to stay warm I've bought a few new jumpers recently and this Lucky jumper from asos caught my eye and fell into my shopping basket. I've just noticed it's gone in to sale aswell, so typical!

I paired the jumper with my trusty Charley 5.0 jeggings which are just so damn comfy and my favourite Park Lane boots. I love these boots so much that I get a bit scared to wear them as I don't want them to start looking worn!

I went into Cabot Circus today to check out the 48 Hour Fashion Fix event that's on this weekend, so look out for a little post about that some time soon!

Bristol Vintage Fair

On Saturday I headed down to the Passenger Shed at Temple Meads to check out the Vintage Fair. I didn't expect it to be so busy and was a little surprised to find a bit of a queue outside to get in, especially as it was so cold outside!

After a short wait I got inside in the warm and started making my way round the stalls, checking out all the interesting pieces of jewellery and clothes.

Rose Swallow Necklace
I caved and had to buy this cute necklace.
I had to stop myself from buying something from each stall but ended up with this necklace and a pink rose ring that is a nightmare to photograph! There was just far too much to take in from the rails and rails of clothes, the vintage hair salon and the cute tea party area where some people got up and danced!

vintage
I don't need anymore bags...

I couldn't resist trying on this headband!
If you head to thevintagefair.com you can find out if there's a vintage fair near you sometime soon and the next vintage fair in Bristol is the 20th April if you want to check it out. :)
